About the Author
Sandra Brown began her writing career in 1981 after being
fired from a television job. Suddenly she had time on her
hands and, on a dare from her husband, she began to write.
Since then Brown has published 77 novels.
A lifelong Texan, Brown was born in Waco, grew up in Fort
Worth and attended Texas Christian University, majoring in
English. Before embarking on her writing career, she worked
as a model, as a weathercaster in Dallas, and as a feature
reporter on PM Magazine.
Brown was awarded the Romance Writers of America's
Lifetime Achievement Award, and she was named Thriller
Master for 2008, the top award given by the International
Thriller Writer's Association. In addition to her work under her
own name, Brown has published under the pseudonyms of
Laura Jordan, Rachel Ryan, and Erin St. Claire. She once said,
"I've got this love-hate relationship with writing. It's this
compulsion to tell a story that people want to read. And I
never get over my amazement that people have an interest
in what I have to write."
Brown is married to her husband of 43 years, Michael, and
continues to write in multiple genres.
